The GC Series is Dominator's purpose-built firearm storage range — Cat A/B compliant for all Australian states and territories. Five models from the compact GC-1 (4 rifles) through to the GC-5 premium gun safe (16+ rifles), with the higher GC-4 and GC-5 models built on the DS Series security platform for genuine fire-and-burglary-rated firearms storage.

Solid steel construction
Heavy-gauge steel construction throughout. GC-3 and above use 12mm solid steel doors. GC-4 and GC-5 add concrete composite construction for fire and burglary resistance.

GC-1 stores 4 large rifles or 7 small. GC-2 fits 8 / 12. GC-3 fits 16 / 24. GC-4 and GC-5 add adjustable shelving for mixed firearm and valuables storage.

GC Series cabinets are built to satisfy state firearms-storage compliance requirements and provide insurance-rated burglary protection. All GC models include separately key-lockable ammunition compartments (GC-2 onwards), hardened anti-drill plating around the lock, and a relocker that engages if the lock is attacked.
GC-4 and GC-5 are built on the DS Series security platform — adding concrete composite construction for the highest level of firearms-rated security.

GC-1 vs GC-2 — by collection size
GC-1 holds up to 4 large rifles or 7 small. GC-2 fits 8 / 12 and adds the lockable ammunition compartment. Most multi-firearm licence holders specify GC-2 or larger.
GC-4 / GC-5 for mixed firearms and valuables
GC-4 and GC-5 are built on the DS Series security platform with concrete composite construction and adjustable shelving — ideal for collectors storing firearms, ammunition, valuables and documents in a single unit.
Lockable ammunition compartment standard

What to expect
GC Series cabinets must be securely floor-mounted to satisfy state firearms storage compliance. Smaller models (GC-1, GC-2) can be positioned by two people; GC-3 onwards require mechanical handling.
Floor bolting is required by law — an unmounted firearms cabinet will not satisfy state compliance. GC Series includes 4–6 internal bolt holes per model.

Secondary Defence
Glass Relocker Protection
GC Series safes include a spring-loaded case relocker — a secondary locking mechanism designed to activate if the primary lock is attacked. Understanding how it works helps you know when it’s engaged and what to do if it is.
How it works
A thin glass plate is embedded behind the primary lock body. If a drilling, punch, or torch attack breaks the glass, spring-loaded secondary bolts deploy and jam the locking mechanism. Once activated, the safe cannot be opened even if the primary lock is subsequently bypassed — it requires professional recovery by a qualified safe technician.
The relocker is a permanent protection feature, not a consumable. It exists to make the safe effectively unusable to an attacker even if they partially succeed against the primary lock.
If your relocker activates
If you cannot open your safe and suspect the relocker has engaged (usually after attempted forced entry), contact your Dominator dealer immediately. Do not attempt forced opening — this can cause permanent damage to the safe body.
A qualified safe technician can recover the relocker and restore normal operation. The safe itself remains structurally sound and can usually return to service after a relocker recovery.
Maintenance and Servicing
GC Series cabinets require minimal maintenance. Clean barrel rests periodically with a dry cloth, and lubricate locks and hinges as part of annual firearms maintenance. Replace electronic lock batteries annually under Power for Life.

Apply a drop of lock-grade lubricant to the dial spindle annually. Avoid WD-40 or general-purpose oils — they can gum up precision movements.

Electronic lock won't open — no response from keypad.
Battery is most likely depleted. Replace the 9V battery and try your code again. Use a brand-new Duracell 9V Alkaline battery only. If the keypad still doesn’t respond, contact your dealer for diagnosis.
Electronic lock responds but rejects correct code.
Mechanical dial won't open — combination correct but bolts don't retract.
Lock is working, but handle does not unlock.
Safe door is difficult to open or close.
Safe is damaged or inoperable after attempted forced entry.
