The DD Series is Dominator's purpose-built tilt-drawer deposit range — engineered for retail, hospitality and any business that handles end-of-day cash. Five models from compact DD-1 through full-height DD-5, each with the signature pull-down deposit drawer that lets staff drop cash without ever opening the main door. Three lock options, certified cash ratings, and an internal key-lockable compartment on selected models.
Why DD Series
Tilt-drawer design lets staff drop cash, takings or valuables straight into the safe without opening the main door. Anti-fish baffle prevents retrieval through the drawer once a deposit is made.
6mm solid steel body and 12mm solid steel door, hardened anti-drill plating and spring-loaded relockers. Cash ratings up to $30,000 and insurable valuables ratings up to $300,000 across the range.
Internal key-lockable compartment separates deposited takings from general storage — so staff can access change without ever touching the day's cash. Manager keeps the master key, staff use only the deposit slot.

The compact sized DD-1 is the smallest in the DD Series, allowing fast and efficient deposits without the need to open the main door. The direct locking configuration allows more cost efficient security for retail applications.

The DD-2 deposit safe allows easy conversion to high security locking devices by introducing a handle driven bolt locking design. The internal area is larger than the DD-1, allowing more storage area for cash and retails deposits.

The DD-3 is the first size to introduce a separate internal compartment that catches the deposited items and stores them separate to the other holdings. This feature allows you to provide staff access to change or other items, without accessing the main cash deposits.

The Dominator TH-3 is a UL-RSC certified front-loading deposit safe purpose-built for high-cash-turnover environments. With up to seven 32mm steel locking bolts, dual anti-fishing trap door deposit drawers, 60mm thick penetration-resistant walls, and a separate key-lockable internal compartment, it delivers uncompromising security for retail, hospitality, and commercial cash handling.

The DD-4 provides large open space storage for deposits, without separating access to the internal areas. The internal compartment includes adjustable shelving to allow individual configuration and can be removed if large open spacing is required.

One of the only fire rated high security deposits safes on the market. With key lockable deposit drawer, separated compartment access internally and multiple anti manipulation and forced entry resistant features.

The DD-5 is the largest deposit safe in the DD Series. The interior also includes the key lockable compartment to separate deposited items from the below storage area, allowing users to freely access the relevant compartments without compromising security. The main storage compartment is fitted with adjustable shelving to allow configuration to suit unique applications and requirements.
All DD Series safes drawn to actual relative scale. DD-1 at 405mm through to DD-5 at 1015mm — with a 1700mm person silhouette for reference.
Cash ratings and insurable valuables ratings on every DD Series model. Independently rated for retail and commercial cash handling.

Standard across the range
DD Series safes are built around a deposit-specific attack profile. The pull-down drawer incorporates an anti-fish baffle so deposited cash cannot be retrieved through the drawer once it’s been dropped. The body is 6mm solid steel, the door is 12mm solid steel, and DD-2 through DD-5 use handle-driven 3-way bolt work for resistance against prying and forced entry.
All DD Series models include hardened anti-drill plating around the lock and a spring-loaded case relocker that engages if the lock is attacked.
DD Series safes carry insurable ratings that your business insurer can use to set sub-limits for cash and valuables stored on premises:
Specific ratings vary by model and lock specification. Your dealer can confirm the exact rating for the model you’re considering and provide documentation for insurance claims.

DD Series safes are engineered around the realities of a retail or hospitality cash environment — frequent deposits, multiple staff, and end-of-day takings that need to be secure but accessible. Every feature below is standard across the range.
Pull-down deposit drawer is the defining feature of the DD Series. Internal baffle prevents deposited items from being retrieved through the drawer.
Solid steel construction throughout. Reinforced framework provides strength against forced-entry attacks and a stronger installation.
Handle-driven 3-way bolt work on DD-2 through DD-5. Bolt count scales with model size — three on DD-2/DD-3, five on DD-4, seven on DD-5.
All models include hardened steel anti-drill plating around the lock and a spring-loaded case relocker that engages if the lock is attacked.
DD-3 and DD-5 include a key-lockable internal compartment that separates deposited takings from general storage — three-tier access for daily operations.
DD-1 uses a secure direct-locking configuration — cost-efficient security for compact retail applications without compromising attack resistance.
Standardised lock mounting allows easy conversion between key, combination and electronic lock types.
Durable textured black paint finish provides lasting protection against scratches and corrosion in busy retail environments.
DD Series safes are designed for floor-fixed installation with 4 internal recessed bolt-down provisions on every model. Right-hand hinge is standard. Confirm your installation requirements with your dealer at time of order.
Every DD Series model is available in three lock configurations as standard. All lock types use a universal footprint, meaning conversion between types is straightforward for a qualified safe technician.

Highest quality mechanical key lock available — can also be specified as a secondary lock on DS-2, DS-3, DS-4 and DS-5 for increased security cash rating
DD Series safes can be specified with a secondary Ross 700 key lock in addition to the primary lock on selected models. Adding a secondary key lock increases the layered security and may improve the insurable cash rating. Your dealer can provide exact pricing and rating documentation.
DD Series safes use a universal lock mounting footprint — meaning any of the three lock types can be retrofitted to an existing safe by a qualified safe technician. You’re not locked into your original choice.

DD-3, DD-4 and DD-5 share the same width (510mm) and depth (510mm) — only the height differs (685mm, 760mm and 1015mm respectively). All three models accommodate standard cash trays, making them interchangeable for retail applications as your takings volume grows.
DD-3 and DD-5 include the internal key-lockable compartment for three-tier access (deposit / general / cash collection). DD-4 maximises open storage in the same external footprint as DD-3. Pick by how you’ll use the safe day-to-day, not just by capacity.
DD-1 uses single-point direct locking — most cost-efficient and ideal for compact applications. DD-2 onwards uses handle-driven 3-way bolt work with 3, 5 or 7 locking points. All five models accept the same three lock types: Tecnosicurezza Pulse 2 electronic, Group 2 combination dial, or Ross 700 key lock.
Every DS Series safe with an electronic or biometric lock is covered by our Power for Life initiative. Once a year, you can redeem a free replacement battery at any authorised Dominator dealer — no receipts, no conditions, for as long as you own the safe.
It's our way of making sure your safe stays accessible for decades, not just years.
Power for Life applies across the full range: HS Series, DS Series, GC Series (gun cabinets), FA Series and FX Series.

Most DD Series safes can be installed by your dealer or a qualified safe installer. Smaller models (DD-1 and DD-2) can be positioned by one or two people. DD-3 onwards typically requires mechanical handling or a specialised trolley.
Floor bolting is essential for all DD Series safes — a deposit safe holds the day’s takings and must not be removable. DD Series safes include 4 internal recessed bolt-down provisions on every model, and a properly installed safe effectively weighs several tonnes in tensile resistance.
Identify fixing bolt provisions — every DD Series model has 4 × internal recessed bolt holes. Confirm hole positions with your dealer before drilling.
Identify install position with access clearance for the deposit drawer and main door swing
Confirm delivery access route (doorways, corridors, stairs)
Schedule installation through your dealer — most offer delivery + install as a package
Keep installation certificate for insurance records

DD Series safes include a spring-loaded case relocker — a secondary locking mechanism designed to activate if the primary lock is attacked. Understanding how it works helps you know when it’s engaged and what to do if it is.
A thin glass plate is embedded behind the primary lock body. If a drilling, punch, or torch attack breaks the glass, spring-loaded secondary bolts deploy and jam the locking mechanism. Once activated, the safe cannot be opened even if the primary lock is subsequently bypassed — it requires professional recovery by a qualified safe technician.
The relocker is a permanent protection feature, not a consumable. It exists to make the safe effectively unusable to an attacker even if they partially succeed against the primary lock.
If you cannot open your safe and suspect the relocker has engaged (usually after attempted forced entry), contact your Dominator dealer immediately. Do not attempt forced opening — this can cause permanent damage to the safe body.
A qualified safe technician can recover the relocker and restore normal operation. The safe itself remains structurally sound and can usually return to service after a relocker recovery.
DD Series safes require minimal maintenance but benefit from occasional service to keep the deposit drawer mechanism, locks and bolt work operating smoothly through years of frequent daily use.
Redeem your free battery through Power for Life. Replace before low-battery warnings, not after.
Apply a drop of lock-grade lubricant to the dial spindle annually. Avoid WD-40 or general-purpose oils — they can gum up precision movements.
Book a qualified safe technician to inspect hinges, bolt work, and relocker mechanism. Typical service takes 30–60 minutes.
Check fire seals (where fitted) for compression and integrity. Replace if damaged.

Check that nothing is jammed in the drawer slot — receipts or oversized items can prevent smooth operation. If the drawer is clear and still binds, the mechanism may need lubrication. Contact your dealer for service.
