The HS Series is Dominator's flagship home safe range — engineered for households that want serious protection for documents, jewellery, cash and valuables. Five models from compact HS-1 through full-height HS-5, all with 32mm chrome-plated locking bolts, hardened anti-drill plating and insurable cash ratings to $40,000.
Why HS Series
Heavy-gauge steel body and door, hardened anti-drill plating, and 32mm chrome-plated locking bolts. Built to a higher specification than the typical home safe and ready for decades of use.
Insurable cash rating $40,000 and valuables rating $400,000 across the range. Independent ratings your home insurer can use to set jewellery, cash and contents sub-limits.
Five sizes from 24L (HS-1) to 147L (HS-5). HS-3, HS-4 and HS-5 share footprint pairings for upgrade paths. Three lock options — key, dial or electronic.

While the HS-1 is the smallest in the series, it is still large enough to securely store vital A4 documents inside. Secured by 3 extra-large 32mm diameter locking bolts, the HS-1 is the perfect domestic safe.

An efficient use of space, additional locking points and increased security features found in the HS-2 safe allow it to provide unrivalled value for money.

Commercial internal sizing in a domestic safe allows for higher than average storage capacity requirements without needing to pay for unnecessary commercial safe features.

The increased height in the HS-4 improves accessibility without imposing further on floor space. The narrow profile allows installations where limited depth of space is available.

Using the same footprint as the HS-3 size, the large HS-5 provides 150L storage capacity ensuring high level security for large volume secure storage.
All HS Series safes drawn to actual relative scale. HS-1 at 355mm through to HS-5 at 845mm — with a 1700mm person silhouette for reference.
Cash and insurable valuables ratings on every HS Series model. Insurance-grade construction with insurer-recognised ratings.

Standard across the range
HS Series safes are built around a realistic home-attack profile — opportunistic forced entry, prying, and basic drilling. Heavy-gauge steel body and door, hardened anti-drill plating around the lock, and 32mm chrome-plated locking bolts that engage across the opening side. Spring-loaded case relocker engages if the lock is attacked.
HS Series safes carry insurable ratings that your home or business insurer can use to set sub-limits for cash, jewellery and valuables:
For higher ratings, the DS Series ($80–90K) or commercial FA / FX Series provide additional steps. Your dealer can confirm exact specifications.

HS Series safes are engineered around the realistic attack profile a home safe faces — opportunistic prying, basic drilling, and forced removal. Every feature below is standard across the range.
Heavy-gauge steel construction throughout. Reinforced framework provides strength against forced-entry attacks.
Locking bolt count scales 3 → 5 across the range. Chrome plating prevents corrosion through decades of use.
Hardened steel anti-drill plating around the lock and a spring-loaded case relocker that engages if the lock is attacked.
HS-1 includes 3 active + 3 fixed bolts; HS-2 onwards uses handle-driven multi-point bolt work for prying resistance.
Hinge design that protects against hinge attacks — the door remains secured even if hinges are removed.
Adjustable shelves on HS-2 onwards. HS-1 includes a single shelf to organise documents and small items.
Standardised lock mounting allows easy conversion between key, combination and electronic lock types.
Durable textured black paint finish provides lasting protection against scratches and corrosion.
HS Series safes can be specified left-hand or right-hand hinge. Standard stock is RHH with limited stock of LHH. Confirm hinge handing with your dealer at time of order.
Every HS Series model is available in three lock configurations as standard. All lock types use a universal footprint, meaning conversion between types is straightforward for a qualified safe technician.

None required
Buyers who prefer key-access reliability and don't need to share access frequently.
Highest quality mechanical key lock available — can also be specified as a secondary lock on DS-2, DS-3, DS-4 and DS-5 for increased security cash rating
HS Series safes can be specified with a secondary Ross 700 key lock for layered security. Adding a secondary lock can satisfy specific insurance requirements for higher-value contents.
HS Series safes use a universal lock mounting footprint — meaning any of the three lock types can be retrofitted to an existing safe by a qualified safe technician.

HS-3 and HS-4 share volume but differ in form: HS-3 is a 510mm cube; HS-4 is taller (685mm) but narrower in depth (380mm). Pick HS-4 where wall depth is constrained.
HS-5 is the same 510×510mm footprint as HS-3 but 845mm tall — making it an upgrade path if your storage needs grow. Plan installation with that in mind.
Daily-access households typically prefer the electronic Tecnosicurezza Pulse 2; weekly or monthly access works fine on the Group 2 dial; key lock is the most cost-efficient and reliable for occasional access.
Every DS Series safe with an electronic or biometric lock is covered by our Power for Life initiative. Once a year, you can redeem a free replacement battery at any authorised Dominator dealer — no receipts, no conditions, for as long as you own the safe.
It's our way of making sure your safe stays accessible for decades, not just years.
Power for Life applies across the full range: HS Series, DS Series, GC Series (gun cabinets), FA Series and FX Series.

Recommended Duracell Procell Alkaline battery
Most HS Series safes can be installed by your dealer or a qualified safe installer. HS-1 and HS-2 can be positioned by one or two people; HS-3 onwards typically requires a trolley.
Floor bolting is strongly recommended — an unbolted home safe can be removed by a determined thief. HS Series safes include 4 internal recessed bolt-down provisions on every model.
Identify fixing bolt provisions — every HS Series model has 4 × internal recessed bolt holes. Confirm hole positions with your dealer before drilling.
Identify install position with access clearance (allow for door swing and handing)
Confirm delivery access route (doorways, corridors, stairs)
Schedule installation through your dealer — most offer delivery + install as a package
Keep installation certificate for insurance records

HS Series safes include a spring-loaded case relocker — a secondary locking mechanism designed to activate if the primary lock is attacked. Understanding how it works helps you know when it’s engaged and what to do if it is.
A thin glass plate is embedded behind the primary lock body. If a drilling, punch, or torch attack breaks the glass, spring-loaded secondary bolts deploy and jam the locking mechanism. Once activated, the safe cannot be opened even if the primary lock is subsequently bypassed — it requires professional recovery by a qualified safe technician.
The relocker is a permanent protection feature, not a consumable. It exists to make the safe effectively unusable to an attacker even if they partially succeed against the primary lock.
If you cannot open your safe and suspect the relocker has engaged (usually after attempted forced entry), contact your Dominator dealer immediately. Do not attempt forced opening — this can cause permanent damage to the safe body.
A qualified safe technician can recover the relocker and restore normal operation. The safe itself remains structurally sound and can usually return to service after a relocker recovery.
HS Series safes require minimal maintenance but benefit from occasional service to keep locks and hinges operating smoothly through years of use.
Redeem your free battery through Power for Life. Replace before low-battery warnings, not after.
Apply a drop of lock-grade lubricant to the dial spindle annually. Avoid WD-40 or general-purpose oils — they can gum up precision movements.
Book a qualified safe technician to inspect hinges, bolt work, and relocker mechanism. Typical service takes 30–60 minutes.
Check fire seals (where fitted) for compression and integrity. Replace if damaged.

Battery is most likely depleted. Replace the 9V battery and try your code again. Use a brand-new Duracell 9V Alkaline battery only. If the keypad still doesn’t respond, contact your dealer for diagnosis.
